Catering in North Vancouver, BC

The furthest point we cater to: two bridges, a tunnel and a mountain. Still cooked the morning of, which is why we ask for a window.

North Vancouver is the furthest point we cater to. From our White Rock kitchen it is Highway 99, the George Massey Tunnel, across Vancouver, and then a second water crossing — the Lions Gate Bridge or the Ironworkers Memorial — before the ground starts going uphill. It is the one drive in our service area with two bridges and a tunnel in it.

We do it, and we are straightforward about what it costs in time. If you want catering on the North Shore from a kitchen in White Rock, the thing to give us is a window rather than a minute.

Two North Vancouvers, and a mountain

The City of North Vancouver is the compact part around Lonsdale, down by the water — dense, walkable, and much like any urban delivery. The District is everything behind and above it: Edgemont, Lynn Valley, Deep Cove, the upper slopes. Those are up winding roads with limited turning space, and some of them are a long way from the nearest arterial.

  • Lower Lonsdale and the waterfront: normal urban loading, with the usual question of where a vehicle can legally stop.
  • Edgemont, Lynn Valley, Deep Cove: tell us about the access — steep driveway, narrow lane, long walk from the parking.
  • Anywhere in the District in winter: say so. Elevation and weather are a real pairing up there.

Why the distance changes the advice

Everything we cater is cooked on the morning of the event at 1531 Johnston Rd in White Rock. There is no Ojas kitchen on the North Shore, and nothing is cooked ahead and frozen to make the distance easier. So the formats that travel well are the ones we will steer you towards:

Boxed delivery is the most reliable: individually packed, labelled meals that hold properly, arrive ready to serve in compostable bowls, and clear fast at the end. Buffet works well, with our team arriving ahead of your guests to build and dress the stations, serve, replenish and clear up, and with a sensible arrival buffer built in.

Plated service is available, and for an evening wedding or gala at a North Shore venue it is a good evening — the drive back across the bridges in the evening is nothing like the morning one, and the venue gives our team somewhere to work. For an early-morning plated breakfast up in the District, we will tell you honestly that buffet is the better plan.

What we get asked for

Office lunches for the Lonsdale and Marine Drive offices, labelled by dietary need. Film and production catering — the North Shore has a steady amount of location work — with early calls, long days and every dietary requirement on the sheet. Fitness and outdoor event catering, which suits the geography: recovery bowls and cold-pressed juices that hold up outdoors. And family gatherings cooked for rooms with mixed appetites and mixed diets.

Menus, diets, and what it costs

The catering menus are a starting point rather than a fixed list — extended, swapped around, or built new around your guests, in whatever cuisine suits. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto and low-carb run through every menu with a dietary key, everything is labelled, and we cook around allergies you tell us about when you book. Produce comes from local BC farms first, in season.

Pricing is per guest, set by the menu and the level of service, and the quote sets it out line by line before you commit. For a staffed event this far from the kitchen, book as early as you can and ask about a tasting while there is still time to arrange one.

Send the date, the guest count and the venue and you will hear from a real person within one working day. Or call the kitchen on +1 (778) 957-7213. Closer to home, or somewhere else in the region: see every area we cover.
