Our story

Food for Soul

Ojas is the Ayurvedic word for vigor — physical strength and good health. We opened to serve it in a bowl: fresh, seasonal, tasty food that strengthens you, built for the pace of real life.

Why Ojas

We are obsessed with making Canada eat healthy, every day

Ojas Blend started with a simple frustration: eating well should not take a fight. Healthy food was either slow, bland, or a compromise on one to get the other. So we set out to serve bowls that are fresh, seasonal and genuinely tasty — food that strengthens immunity rather than just filling a gap — and we chose the bowl because it fits the way people actually live: quick, portable, and completely customisable.

The idea grew out of Fit Munkeys, our fully customisable meal-prep service for people with dietary restrictions and fitness goals, which still runs today. Ojas took what we learned there — that everyone eats differently, and that nobody should have to explain themselves to get a good meal — and put it on a menu anyone can walk in and order from.

Since 2021 we have cooked from our kitchen in White Rock, for the people who eat with us every day and for the offices, weddings and gatherings we cater across greater Vancouver.

Our mission

Serve healthy, fresh food that never gives up on flavour — with enough variety to suit every palate.

Our vision

Make ready, customisable, healthy on-the-go meals something everyone can reach.

How we cook

Seasonal. Mindful. Nourishing.

Seasonal

Ingredients from British Columbia farmers, cooked from scratch the day they are served — every sauce and every protein made in-house, nothing preserved.

Mindful

Every bowl is customisable, every dish is labelled, and vegan, gluten-free, keto and low-carb are on the menu — not a special request.

Nourishing

Food that supports immunity and long-term wellness, in portions that actually feed you.

The kitchen

The chefs behind the bowls

Ojas Blend was started by two chefs who wanted the food they cooked all day to be the food they would happily eat.

Himanshu

Chef and co-founder

Experienced chef passionate about this hospitality lifestyle, working and evolving with amazing diverse ingredients and a kitchen team. As a team we can create mind-blowing experiences which go beyond expectation through food — using sustainable ingredients and building relationships with local communities.

This daily hustle is my motivation to live and keep going, and to take food culture to a different level.

Ankit

Culinary Director and co-founder

Ankit leads the kitchen's development work — the diabetic, keto and vegan programmes in particular — and sets the culinary standards that keep a dish the same whether it comes from the counter, a delivery bag or a catering tray. He has taken Ojas from a boutique meal-prep service to two storefronts, in Vancouver and White Rock.

Our growth

Growth means the well-being of our society

Success through goodness. Four commitments we have kept since day one.

One bill, one dollar

For every bill we generate, a dollar goes to local welfare groups and charities.

BC farmers first

We source from local British Columbia farmers to keep economic growth in the communities we cook in.

Nothing good goes to waste

Surplus meals are sold through Too Good To Go instead of thrown away, and our packaging composts.

Nobody should sleep hungry

Free meals for people in need, and support for the staff and delivery drivers who keep the city fed.

How we give back

We believe in kindness
A kitchen that feeds people well should feed the people around it well too. That is the whole business plan.
