Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody sit together in the north-east corner of the region, and from our White Rock kitchen they are among the longest runs we make. Getting there means crossing the Fraser — Highway 1 and the Port Mann Bridge, or north through New Westminster — and then climbing, because a good deal of Coquitlam is on a hill.
That is the honest shape of catering the Tri-Cities from where we are. It works, we do it, and it is a morning we plan carefully rather than casually.
One kitchen, a long way south
Everything is cooked at 1531 Johnston Rd in White Rock on the morning of your event. Nothing is made days ahead and frozen, and there is no Ojas kitchen anywhere nearer to you. So for a Tri-Cities event the food is cooked early and leaves early, and we would much rather you gave us a window than a precise minute — a bridge does not negotiate.
The geography that matters
- Coquitlam Centre and Austin Heights — straightforward once we are across the river; normal urban loading.
- Burke Mountain and Westwood Plateau — up a long, winding climb with limited turning space on some streets. Tell us if the access is steep or narrow.
- Port Coquitlam — flat, and the easiest of the three to deliver into.
- Port Moody — the inlet end, with a cluster of breweries and event spaces around Murray Street that each have their own loading quirks.
Which service makes sense
Given the distance, boxed delivery and buffet are the two formats that behave best. Delivery is individually packed, labelled meals that hold well and clear fast. Buffet means we arrive ahead of your guests, build and dress the stations, serve, replenish and clear up afterwards, with serviceware, beverages and servers for the duration — and the arrival buffer is built into the plan.
Plated service is available here and is a good fit for an evening wedding or gala, where we are not racing a morning commute and the venue gives our team somewhere to work. For a 9 am plated breakfast on Burke Mountain, we will tell you the honest answer, which is that buffet will be better.
What the Tri-Cities book
Office lunches for teams of ten to three hundred, labelled by dietary need. Sports team and club catering — there is a lot of field and tournament sport out here — protein-forward and portioned per athlete, delivered to the field or the clubhouse. Family gatherings for rooms with mixed diets. And weddings and celebrations at the inlet and park venues, as buffet stations or plated courses.
The food, and the number
The catering menus are a starting point rather than a fixed list — extended, swapped around, or built new for your guests, and it does not have to be the same cuisine twice. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto and low-carb options run through every menu with a dietary key, everything is labelled, and we cook around allergies you tell us about at booking. Sauces and proteins are made in our kitchen, with no preservatives.
Pricing is per guest, set by the menu and the service level, and your quote lays it out line by line before you commit. For a staffed event this far out, book as early as you can — dates fill, and a tasting at the White Rock kitchen is worth arranging while there is still time.
